We were retained to design and build the new 3,500 s.f. home for the Patrick Taleb Hair Salon in Weston, FL. The work consisted of demolition of the prior tenant space, build out of new hair cutting stations, color and hair was stations, pedicure and manicure stations, hair color mixing room, laundry, offices and storage. All new energy efficient LED lighting was incorporated throughout the space as well as new plumbing, air conditioning and insulation. Work started on Feb. 7th and the salon opened its doors on June 4th.
We were the Architects for the expansion and renovation of the existing synagogue in Plantation. The expansion included a new 1,200 seat sanctuary, staff offices, reception lobby, bathrooms, library, break out rooms, kitchen and Oneg area. The extensive use of music in the weekly services required us to work with an acoustics engineer to design proper acoustical treatments and audio elements. The original multi-use sanctuary building that contained offices, classrooms, kitchen and sanctuary was converted into a full time day care facility. We developed a program for new traffic patterns, parking and linkage between the buildings focusing on safety of staff, students and congregants. Our firm won an Award of Merit from the Ft. Lauderdale Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the design.
We were asked by a repeat client to design and build an alteration to an existing commercial strip building in Weston. The building had four minor tenants and a major tenant that was going out of business. The store's lease was up December 31st so it was the owners wishes to start the renovation as soon as their space was turned over. We obtained the permit in early December and did minor preperation work prior to their expired lease. On January 3rd we started full demolition. The objective was to split the building leaving only three minor tenant spaces and demolishing the remainder of the building to make way for a new free standing bank. Once the building was separated and demolished we had to build a new end wall to secure the building. The challenge of the project was to keep and transfer the electrical and telephone service out of the existing electrical room since it was being demolished and relocating it without disrupting service to the remaining tenants. Working closely with FPL, we had to cut off the power at 11:00 p.m. at night and work until 3:30 a.m. We utilized a mobile generator for thirty-six hours while we worked on the change over. The night work included taking out the old service wires, tying in new underground conduit and the next day pulling the new wiring and setting up the electrical service for the energizing of the existing tenants.
The 1,300 s.f. Villas at Omega Club House in Plantation unfortunately had a fire due to arson. We were asked to design and rebuild the interior and refurbish the exterior. The goal as the architect was to specify new electrical, mechanical and finishes that were both cost effective and energy efficient. After stripping the complete interior down to the shell of the building we installed all new electrical wiring, energy efficient lighting, insulation in the walls and ceiling, and air conditioning system. All the damaged glass doors and windows were replaced with new impact resistant doors and windows.
We were originally retained to provide architectural services for initial renovation of the second floor and partial first floor of this 18,000 s.f. office building in Ft. Lauderdale. The building was built in the early 1970's and was in need of extensive work. The building housed a U.S. Post office on the ground floor. The complete second floor was stripped down to the building shell and rebuilt to accommodate the new law offices of McIntosh, Sawran Peltz & Cartaya. The renovation included new offices, break room, library, conference rooms, support staff stations, reception area and complete air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.
Two years later we were retained to provide design and construction services for the remaining 5,000 s.f. of the ground floor for the office expansion of the law firm. The space was stripped down to the shell and rebuilt to carry on the design concept of the second floor.
A year later we were retained to renovate the complete exterior of the building. The renovation incorporated the installation of new impact resistant windows around the complete building including the two story street entrance feature. The exterior finsihes included new stucco work, tile features and new parking resurfacing. All the work was completed while the law firm conducted their daily business.
The city of Ft. Lauderdale recognized the renovation in 2002 with a Community Appearance award for the best office building renovation category.
We provided design and construction services for the buildout of 25,000 s.f. for the new corporate headquarters for National Beverage Corp. in Plantation, Florida. The scope of work involved partial demolition of the existing office area and removal of existing carpeting. The new buildout consisted of developing new office areas for the Chairman, Vice Chairman, break room, retrofit of miscellaneous office, storage and support areas. The carpet tile design represents the colors used in the Owners product color scheme. All of the existing carpet that was removed was recycled and the complete office area was finshed with low VOC paint throughout. We were required to complete the renovation in six weeks. The Owner moved in as required by their aggressive schedule.
We donated our architectural services for the development of a memorial called the Gan Shalom(Garden of Peace) for Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El in Plantation. The intent of the memorial was to provide a reflection area represented by the memorial wall, fountain and adjacent personal seating areas. A more public space to be used for gatherings was developed on the opposite side of the fountain area. The design intent was to have the water cascade down the wall over a rough texture stone that would then splash over the smooth stone with the engraved names representing tears.
We specialize in corporate and private office space planning, office interiors, new commercial buildings and renovations.
